ONLINE petition..Never play on April 15th

As most of you know, there is a major issue at the moment regarding Liverpool Football Club playing a game on 15th April, the anniversary of hillsborough.

John Murphy (Murf) has started an online petition and it has already been signed 227 times and counting. If we can carry this on over the next few days it will give us another piece of ammo to use to raise awareness.

Please take 10 seconds to sign the petition, and maybe more importantly, tell your friends, family and everyone on other forum sites to do the same.

It may (or may not yet be) too late to do anything about this years fixture. But we can make sure that Parry never ever makes us play on this day again.

Thanks

Wanted to post this link. This petition was started on RAWK.

When you sign the petition a "donation" page comes up. You can close that window and not donate and you name is registered. Just reclick on the petition page and check the signature list.

Remember the 96...
Justice..

Thanx for making this a sticky...Gary...well done.

I'll add this;

For some of the newbies who may not be aware..
On the anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster there has always been a service at Anfield. Very moving tribute to those lost that tragic day.

The team and manager have always attended along with many executives of LFC.

With a match on the same day, the team and manager can't make the service.

This is about respect for all those famiies and friends who lost loved ones.

There has been a --for lack of better word--- tradition... of showing respect that day.

Bradford FC suffered a major fire and lost lives, and have refused to play on that date in the future. They have lived up to that ever since.

Many long time supporters have always attended the service..how can they go to a match the same day with the same enthusiasm after being at Anfield to pay respects?

The match was moved to 5:15pm kickoff, as it had been scheduled to be at 3pm..the same time as the service.

But there will be many who just can't do both. After going to Anfield to pay respects for friends and loved ones lost and then be expected to rush their travel to an away match.

That is the problem this year..unless the match is moved.

And it is something that many do not want repeated in the future.

I hope this perspective helps..

The club and the Premier League won't listen unless we don't go at all.

We do not play on that date.

I don't think online petitions do anything other than make the contributors feel a little bit better. If everyone sent a letter to Rick Parry it would carry more weight.

Yeah good idea. Cmon people get writing and we will have a vote on the best letter. We all send the letter with our names and families signatures at the bottom and hopefully it will change!

-Ideas on here or new thread
-Vote for best letter
-Print the letter off and get family/friends to sign it
-Send off letter and hope!

What does everyone think? A new sticky thread maybe?
