And it depends what you mean by “contributing fuck all” if you’re expecting him to beat 3 players and score or give bone crunching passes then yes that would be “contributing fuck all”
If however you’re looking for a player that moves the ball on quickly, has a broad range of passing, can run all day, great vision then Henderson’s been doing quite well recently. His biggest faults this season have been tackling and not being adventurous enough, and both are showing signs of improvements
Not saying he’s a top 4 quality player yet. But he’s only young and is on the right tracks to be

You're not seriously suggesting that Adam be first choice?

Instant impact? Ok. As i've said i'd like him to prove me wrong. But why don't you prove me wrong by giving me examples whereby he is proving that he is getting better, proving his worth or contributing more than others in the team? Some impact would be better than none.

And Adam was voted in the Premier League team of the year last season, he’s at the age footballers are usually at their peak. Not surprising Adam is/was ahead of a 21 year old
Lucas of course is a different type of player / situation. But you’re writing off a player after 1 season who is only 21, far too early to do so
|
Not writing him off actually just saying he's got to do more. What's wrong with having high expectations? And bear in mind he cost about as much as the bloke the thread is about and he's done less in a red shirt so far. At least Aquilani has contributed when he got a game.

Henderson hasn't been afforded that luxury.

My word. That is the biggest pile of shite i've read for awhile. Did you not see the multitude of threads about how poor Lucas was? Get a grip you wally.
Lucas was the scapegoat by quite a few for our poor seasons before this last one.

Aquilani was loaned out because at that time we had a midfield so big it was visible from space.
However, Meireles left at the last minute, Gerrard's been injured, Henderson was played wide, Shelvey only new, Spearing and Lucas were DM's and Adam was a disappointment.
If Aquilani had stayed he could have been an important player for us, especially Suarez.
He's still got 2 years left on his contract, and with Gerrard being about 5 years older(?), he could still be an important attacking player linking midfield with the forwards.
I'd like to see how he'd go if he comes back.

How's his injury record been whilst he's been at Milan?

Didn't play at all in January and February. Not sure how long the winter break is in Italy, but it suggests he was out for at least a month or so.

Would be interesting to see Aquilani back but given we've been playing 442 what would it mean for others.
We're right for dm with lucas and spearing as backup. Henderson has been playing on the right but surely Kenny will bring in a natural right winger this summer which means Gerrard/Henderson will play alongside Lucas/Spearing
Shelvey may well be loaned out next season and then there's Adam as well who was starting to look good but after Lucas' injury it was all down hill from there.
Only way I see Aquilani staying is if Adam is moved on which I can't really see happening.

Get a grip? Would be decent advice for yourself. I said that Henderson has had more stick than Lucas, for his first season I think he has. No one started moaning seriously about Lucas until his second season. And he definitely played along side better players than Henderson has. Yet, that comment prompted your pathetic attempts at insults, part of it was opinion, the second part fact. Wally? Pile of shite? Bit of a fucking drama queen you, aren't you Sunbeam?
Yes, I remember the threads about Lucas, I was one of those who was defending him, as I will Henderson.
Noticed you completely ignored the bit where you came up with the horseshit that Lucas was 17 when he joined us rather than his actual age of 20. I assumed you'd made an honest mistake, clearly you were simply lying to try and make your point appear more valid. Not surprising.

Nice balance of attacking and defence.

Doubt that's the case. We didn't have to buy so many midfielders if we were happy with what we got
Aqualini wanted to be playing in Italy and it seems he wasn't in Kenny's plans as well

Aquilani's wages likely to be at least double Henderson's so they didn't cost the same
Nothing wrong with high expectations, but surely you need to factor in age when doing a comparison? A 21 year old midfielder should only improve. Aquilani was what 25 when we signed him, he'd be near/at his peak
