Premiership referees
Premiership referees - becoming an absolute fucking joke.
Ashley Young dives - given two dubious penalties
Suarez and Carroll constantly fouled - nothing
And now the Chelski "yard away from the line" goal
It defies imagination to think what are they going to do next?

I started listening to the 5 Live podcast "ask the ref". First of all, Mike Riley is the head of the referee organisation. He was a joke as a ref so how could he be in charge of the current lot?
A ref rang in and said they talk to the teams before hand and tell them what they won't accept and foul language and crowding the ref will get a card. Riley dismisses him saying its different in the premier league where they know everyone. They go to the clubs each season, showing players DVD's etc of what's not allowed. Then how come players are allowed to abuse refs without punishment? Same with pulling jerseys? Give penalties every time and it will soon stop.
The situation is you have a boss who thinks everyone is doing a great job and an FA who agrees. You have a 3% chance of over turning a red card.
When the bodies who are in charge of refs think everything is great, nothing will be done.

Just got back from the pub where a number of blues were upset that Carroll scored our winner (because he's shit). When I showed him the photo in all the papers and pointed out that even if he'd have missed we'd have had a penalty because Fellaini was trying to throttle him with his own shirt they all laughted and said that a penalty would never have been given. You know what - they were right. That blatant shirt pull would never have been punished in a million years.

Sure Puyol didn't get one against AC Milan and they showed a reply of the ref having a clear view of his jersey stretching right back behind him, Disgraceful refereeing.
Didn't see that picture of Carroll. Fair play for him getting up so well then. Still give most credit to Bellamy for that goal though. A wonderfully placed free kick

Agreed, however if it had been someone pulling a United shirt, with certain referees in charge, who knows?

The Chelsea fans still bemoan the no goal in the 2005 semi final of the champions league. You watch the ref he was about to send off Chec for the foul on Baros.... that would have meant a penatly and Chelsea down to 10 men.. But that often gets ignored

They talk about consitency and use different refs and their interpretations as an excuse as to why it's not achieved.
But the ref today deciding that kicking and hitting were less of an offence than invading James Perch's personal space. How does he possibly justify the difference in punishment?

Probably the same thing they do every week - get an overwhelming amount of the decisions correct.
Too much nonsense written about refereeing standards. There's never been a time when people didn't complain about referees making mistakes. You ask humans to make judgement calls in a fast-moving football match and mistakes will be made. That will never change no matter how much moaning people do.
The Mata "goal" was a howler, no doubt about it, but you just have to accept that errors will be made and get on with it.

What sucks about that is if no goal was scored then Cech would of been sent, i believe he still should of been sent, goal or no goal.. Did he even get a card?

I'd like to know the ratio for fouls in the box for the defending team vs attacker's team ?
Its got to be ridiculously high...
