My dad has asked me to get either one of these two polo shirts for my brother for his birthday but I have no idea where to get one from. I've looked on the net but there seem to be several bootleg/fake brands being made.
Does anyone know the best place where to get a genuine one from

It's similar with Diesel in Malaysia. You can get it for at least 1/5th of the price you pay here. Some of it is 1/10th. That's from the official Diesel shop that used to be in KLCC.

Tacchini or Rossini.
Serious retro from my schooldays. You had to have a shirt or track-suit top by them big boys to be "in".

No that's all 100% legit. The guy I bought my Versace shirt from for £7.50 told me so.

Is that a good or a bad thing?
I got one years ago as a present and didn't see one for a good while. Sadly getting more and more prevalent.

Fuck, I didn't realise that ilk had got onto it. I feel slightly ashamed now. Especially as for the only time in my entire life I was ahead of fashion for a bit. Got one from London and I'd never seen 'em before and it was ages before I saw any more. Ah well, they'll do for work, back to Oxfam shirts for my every day wear.

Lacoste polos lose their shape after a few washes and I personally don't like the short arms on Ralph Lauren polos.
Gant make really good quality polo shirts imo. You can wash them over and over again and they don't shrink or discolour too much. Hugo Boss too.

Whenever I see a Lacoste polo top I'm taken back in time to Milan in 1988 and these little crocodile things laying on hotel room carpets whilst curious owners looked forlornly at the left breast of their 'Lacoste' top!
You had to be there.:D
