completely different, and you know it
1st of all glitter was convicted and he openly flaunt's the fact he's a pedo
2nd glitter has in no way changed the face of music and in doing so modern culture in the way Jackson did
rumours and alligations will long be forgotten about, yet his music and people influenced by it, will be about for a very very long time

Jackson admitted live on TV that he loved to sleep with boys.
Sorry ,thats right we are supposed to all believe that it was ok because Michael did not have a child hood of his own.
He should have been a priest.

Absoulte bollocks. He never admitted that he loved to sleep with boys. He said he shares his bed with the kids when they came round to sleep over.
In not suggesting that that this is anyway ok in itself, but sharing a bed with and interfering with, are two totally different things. I used to share a bed with family member when I stayed over at relatives houses, does that make my cousin a pedo too?
Glitter was just one of many on the pop scene and didnt have anyway near the same effect over several decades. He was a hit in the seventies and that was it.

How many millions did he spend on shutting them up?
Ah yes`-the work of an innocent man.
Would you have left your kids alone with him for the night?

Quite reasonable behaviour for a 50 year old.
They were not his cousins either.

Irrelevant what mr. Dublin thinks!
As long as he's not convicted he's innocent, simple as that! May not sound very fair to you but that's the way it is..

How is this irrelevant?
Had jacko not been so popular there would hardly be a mass hysteria now, which I believe was your original question.. And he became so popular with his music so it is actually relevant, no?

Everyone is allowed their own opinion and to express it. Buying yourself out of a possible conviction does not scream innocence to me...hence I think there is a strong possibility he may have abused children, conviction or not.

this is the big thing for me, payin off the kids , why? surely you`d fight tooth and nail to prove your innocence as you wouldn`t want people to think you were a child molester where a guilty man would only be lookin to beat the rap no matter how it was done

Absolutely, I'm not disagreeing with you!
I have no idea what he did or didn't do and could'nt really give a shit either.. it's just that his "public status" is "innocent", if you know what I mean! Because he was never convicted you have to call him innocent..
As I said, it often leads to fairly outrageous results, e.g. everybody knows someone killed someone else but because there wasn't enough proof for some reason "the killer" (which is technically wrong:p) couldn't be convicted and was pronounced innocent.. But that's the way it is..

Would you leave your kids with me? Or poor old carvalho? Big dutch? Taylor? Redsam??:eek: ;)
What I'm saying is you generally wouldn't leave your kids with a stranger and that's what Michael Jackson is (well, was).. Just because he's famous doesn't mean you'd leave your kids with him, right? Or would you give them to Tom Cruise? Or Christian Slater?

Perhaps he didn't want the court to get it wrong, and end up convicting him as a paedophile when he had done nothing of the sort.
Or, perhaps he realised that getting found not guilty doesn't prevent everyone thinking your guilty anyway, and figured that alleviating the need for the media circus the trial would have produced.
There's a lot of ways to interpret actions.

I read an interesting article one time about the whole use of the word "innocent". The correct usage is actually "not guilty". In court you are innocent until proven guilty. Once you go to trial you are either found guilty or not guilty. Not guilty doesn't necessarily mean you're innocent, just that there wasn't enough evidence or there are mitigating circumstances which lead a jury/judge to declare that you're not guilty.
The press use the word innocent as a way of not botching up an article because it is very easy to exclude the word "not" from a news article. So to alleviate this problem, the press use the word innocent. Even though it's not the proper term.
So technically Jackson may not have been innocent, but he was still found not guilty. Similar to OJ Simpson. He may not be innocent, but he was found not guilty.

I usually agree with what you say, but any sane man would surely want to eliminate any ambiguity. Although he clearly was not a man with a complete set of Elgin's, the people that were paid to be responsible for his public persona surely would have weighed up the fors and againsts, and they opted to pay to bury the trial.

So he learned from this mistake, and saw the clouds it left over his character, and when the second accusations were made, he did let it go to trial, and removed the ambiguity.
I don't have any opinion in either direction as to whether he committed the crimes he was accused of.

Was MJ found not guilty, well the jury found him not guilty, so thats that. I to feel there was more to it and that he paid his way out of trouble, as OJ Simpson had before, i think you can sum it all up by saying "Was M Jackson guilty of improper conduct with a minor, ans Is water wet.

Why are you discussing wheter Glitter is going to gather the same hysteria if he dies anyway. I highly doubt it would be all over the news as he wasn't liked and didn't help break the black mould on the MTV stream.
The next stars to get as much coverage will be McCartney/Starr and I don't see that happening any time soon.
