Obviously depends on what you find funny, but I think it's hilarious. Download a couple of episodes from season one. Definitely worth gving it a shot! Or even just do a youtube search on it.

Seen the episode where Drama has a bet on about whether Turtle or Eric will get their end away first and the bird Turtle gets with wants him to dress up in a bunny suit. I've never laughed so much when it got to the end of that episode.

It's definitely one of the best US tv shows out there....it's produced by "Marky" Mark Wahlberg. I don't think it's based on his experiences in Hollywood, but it's funny to watch the things that go on behind the scenes.
Jeremy Piven as Ari Gold is just brilliant.
Emmanuelle Chriqui is absolutely gorgeous.

Yeah the bird that plays Sloan is stunning. When my mate first put me on to this show and told me it was based on marky mark I didn't think it could be as good as what it actually is.

No I can post this up here without anyone thinking I watch some freaky porn:D

Really? I tried the first season and thought it was extremey obnoxious, loud and quiet stupid. Arie the Jew agent plays very well, but the rest is straight garbage. Media people like to claim that the show is a huge success, but what you forget is that the show is about "them". The ratings don't lie, not too many people watch it.
Since Sopranos, The Wire and Six Feet Under ended, HBO is absolutely horrible. All their new shows since then are pretty bad, compared to the standards they established.

The show got better after the 1st season - Ari is good, and his interaction with his assistant in the later seasons is funny as fuck.
I like it because it doesn't get too serious - it doesn't compare to some of the "heavyweight" dramas that you listed above. Entourage is primarily a comedy show, and the loud, obnoxious aspect is part of the fun.
You might be right about HBO, but I think "Curb" is still pretty good.

I don't think it was supposed to be replacing those shows was it?
The three shows you mentioned were pretty much one-off irreplaceable shows, it's no wonder HBO haven't topped them. Thank god they had the brains to commission them in the first place.

You do know that the wire had really shit ratings when it aired in america and built more of a cult following.
I didn't rate SFU. But The Sopranos and The Wire were fantastic shows but you can't really compare Entourage to them as they are nothing alike. Curb would be a better comparison.
