Everton have drawn Standard Liege (snigger) in the next round of the UEFA cup. Anyone fancy them to beat the Belgian Champions ? Not if Liege reach anything like the level of performance they displayed against us they won`t, surely. Another long playing Christmas video for fans of "the people`s club".

Are you sure?

I think teams from the same country can't play each other in the early rounds

I am sure that it will be tough, Liege seems like a team that only gets motivated and no frightened when playing against a big club

As well organised and physical as Liege were, I think they lack a cutting edge as if they'd had one, we'd be in the UEFA Cup. Everton are a similar side in that they are physical, well organised and committed, but they have more goals in their side and the signing of Saha will only improve this. I agree with BD, I think they'll beat Liege.

Decent side but i'm sure our below par performances in both legs made them look better than they actually are.

Still, i think they'll knock the bitters out :D

My heart pumps pools of piss for them.

Liege are bigger, stronger, faster, better organised and play better football. Everton only have Yakubu to beat down their defensive door and maybe Cahill as a midfield threat. Nah...the bitters are toast.

Yeah me to, Liege looked good no doubt, but an early goal over there and it would have been a very different tie. If Everton score I could see their arses going,

I concur. Liege looked awesome against us at times, but failed to score despite our generous defending. They lack that killer instinct, and the bitters will be so up for it.

We`ll see. I`ll try to remember to bring this thread back after the bitters` demise.

As I said, out they go and no surprise to me. They even bought one of their best players and it didn`t make any difference. Everton are indeed........SHITE.

Everton fan - "thats it our seasons over, we've lost the derby, we are out of europe and we are out the League Cup, which is the only competition we had a chance of winning. Even if we get into Europe again next season, we will only go out in the first round again".

Priceless!!

What's wrong with you lot, don't you know the only reason they lost was because of the referee?

Haha, brilliant.

Accepting the fact they're fucking shit is what they need to do.

Hope Michael Owen scores the winner against them on Sunday and shred any ounce of confidence they had left.

It was a tough draw, and let's be honest, could anyone really see them beating a side who had run us so close over 3 and a half hours of football?

I think in their up and coming games against UTD and Arsenal, they need to revert to what they're best at, defending deep and hoping for something on the counter, and out of those two games I hope they get 2 points.

standard liege could really be the zenit of this year's uefa cup, i think milan will win it but don't write off standard, they're a motivated bunch of fellas

Still think they need bit more of a cutting edge, as they should have beat us and should have battered Everton both home and away. Their keeper is shocking too, but all the other aspects of their team are good enough to give any team a game.

Did they actually have any interest in him before we played Liege? I would love it, if they only bought this player because we made him look half decent. We did it on purpose of course.:D

Jacob

Get to bloody college ;)

But an answer to your question is that alot of Everton fans think he
was bought on the strength off the game against us
