The latest forum software update includes tag (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tag_(metadata)) functionality. A tag cloud appears on the forum homepage and can also be viewed here: http://forums.lfconline.com/tags.php. The size of the word relates to its popularity.
The idea is to add relevent keywords to your threads to allow users to see the popular subjects and also to make it easier to search for the topics you want as the results should be more relevent. It is not compulsory, but the more people use the feature the better it will be.
For example, if you were writing a post about Crouch being linked with Portsmouth you could add 'crouch, portsmouth' in the tag field.
As with anything else on here tags are open to abuse, so please try to be consistent with your keywords and avoid adding tags that are not relevent to the subject. Anyone who purposefully abuses this feature will be banned if necessary.
