I have a good quality VHS copy of a documentary concerning a certain ex-player who is in need of funds and would like to convert it to DVD so the trustees of a certain appeal can see it. Can this be done by a doofus like me?

If you have a DVD recorder - Connect the output of the VHS recorder to the input of a set-top DVD recorder.

There are companies that offer the conversion as a service. A quick google should find ones local to you.

This place does it for £5.

It can be done with a Camcorder hooked up to your vhs, so that as the video plays the camcorder records it. Then you can download onto a PC (any pc with XP has a basic movie editing package called moviemaker).

However, I imagine you will lose some quality with this (and lets face it, its a ballache doing all that), so you really are better goingto the pros.

There is a firm by The Rocket who do this. You know, by the hat shop.
