The Cheltenham Festival gets under way next Tuesday culminating in The Gold Cup next Friday when the two heavyweights of the racing world take eachother on. Which way will it go? and has anyone got any tips or strong fancies in anyother races?

I won a few bob on Cloudy Lane on Sat.He's now the favourite for Aintree but at 6-1.Good horse though and Simon is a decent shout at about 16-1.

Kauto Star has to be the smart money. Evens I heard you can get, in a two horse race that isn't bad.

Neptune Collonges could make it a 1-2-3 for Nicholls.

Might throw him in a treble with Curlin (Dubai World Cup) and an outsider.

I am a huge fan of Kauto Star as it paid for a couple of holidays last year but I really respect Denman and his owner Harry Finlay. Finlay is a far better judge of horses than me and he is right behind Denman. I have to side with Kauto though as Ruby is riding him with the choice of the two runners. That speaks volumes for me. So my advice is get on!

Mossbank for the Ryanair is a good bet as well.

I like Khyber Kim for novice race that is on Tuesday. I have had reports its flying through its work at home. It was disappointing at Newbury but I am prepared to forgive him that and I was on at 14's.

It was a really disappointing run by Kauto today and I don't think he did himself justice. Denman was the better horse and deserved his win but I am really gutted that Kauto didn't run up to his usual standards. He never travelled and jumped nothing like he normally does.

I had an awful festival and it was topped by the fact I was going down on Wednesday when racing was abandoned.

Roll on Aintree!
