I've just been given an old 20" TV-Video player, and it works fine when watching Terrestrial television through the aerial.
My problem lies when I try and watch a video, I only get sound, and this is the same when I plug a console in and try to play it through the AV channel. It just comes up with a grey/black screen.
The TV does have scart, so I'm thinking it can't be so bad, does anyone have any advice on how I could get the picture?
I don't have the remote for the TV so I only have limited options on the front of the set.

Nope, I'm wanting to use it just to have a seperate tv to play old school playstation....Brian Lara Cricket from about 1999 if you've ever played it you'd know what I'm on about.

Are you sure it's actually on AV? My PS2 runs through channel 5, and the video through 0.

Alot of Tv-Vidoe combos have the 3 jack inserts at the front (white, yellow and red) usually the are on AV2 and the scart at the back usually occupies AV1....so am told :o

I am going through the AV channel via scart, however, I don't get any picture when I am on the channel, just sound... believe the sound on a really old Brian Lara isn't great, none of the songs and shit that you get on these modern games like Pro Evo..

Yeah the little green channel indicator comes up and says "AV", so I'm pretty sure. Although the TV is old..

Cable fault perhaps? I've had Scart leads not properly plugged in that gives me a picture but no sound. MAybe worth swapping a cable perhaps!?

Saying that though, it could be your flux capacitor! Have you checked that yet?

Just sounds like it's fucked to me.

I think the cable suggestion was a good one, I've had the same thing happen, although since it's not playing your videos it sounds as though it's one of the internal components not playing ball.
