My contract has just run out on my BT broadband and Virgin phone and I'm thinking of going for one of those all inclusive deals. I'm thinking Virgin might be a good bet but just wondered if anyone has any good advice?

I've been looking around and there's some OK looking deals but its the quality of service I'm interested in. Particularly on the broadband. I've been paying BT for up to 8meg and actually been getting about 1 meg at best.

I just have the broadband and not the phone/tv package.

Am with BE. broadband. 24mb connection. It's not bad. It's about £24 a month.

Virgin Media broadband is the most reliable around, but I think it's one of the most expensive as well.I've not had a single problem in five years or so.

The TV package isn't brilliant, but you get Sentanta thrown in now if you are going for the sports package.

I've got the Sports package and 4meg broadband (I think it's 4meg),which sets me back £45.00 a month.No phone.

Virgin, imo, offers a great bb/phone service. I'm paying £3.50/month for phone (exc. calls), 2MB BB and free basic TV. Get yourself a 'BOX' and you're quids in :D

Do Rich, I had Tiscali/Toucan broadband before and it would not stop disconnecting! I've NEVER had Virgin broadband disconnect and the d/l speeds are really good! ;)

Yeah I think it will be broadband only now, not too fussed about TV or phone on second thoughts - TV is pretty lame anyway and I can't remember the last call I made on my landline.

Now I just gotta try and crowbar Virgin into a good deal...

Try their website Rich, some good bundles on there. I got BB/Phone + free basic TV for 3.50 per month!! 1 off mind a few months back but they could still offer you something good. Cable broadband really is so much better and I'm saying that from experience and not because I use Virgin!

Yeah £3.50 for me every month, £9.50 line rental is taken off each month and that's what I'm left to pay, the calls of course are extra but nice when a while ago I was paying per month:

Phone £35 (inc £10 international)
Sky £37
BB £9.99
Setanta £9.99

Total: ~£92

;)

Very interesting mate, ta.

I need to research these 'cashback' sites a little, sounds a bit too good to be true, which normally means it is.

I signed up for Greasypalm.com as the bloke who used to sit next to me at work got two pound if I did,but I never used it again.

He was as tight as arseholes though and used it all the time.Got fifty quid back from the last time I spoke,so I suppose it's worth it.All you have to do is click on the links to the websites you like through their site if it's on there.

Serious, and you get cash for it? How many times do you press a link to get say a quid?

I may of mislead you a bit.You have to buy something to get money.

I depends what you click on for how much you get.It has links to ebay and stuff like that for instance and I once bought train tickets to Edinburgh through it,but I got less than a penny back for that.It tells you how much you will get on the links.

All you have to do is make sure you enter the website through it when you are buying from certain websites if it has them listed.

I couldn't be bothered with it personally, but my old workmate and his girlfriendboth used it.

I can vouch for topcashback.co.uk. I switched gas supplier in November and got 60 notes for it. Missus did all the crimbo shopping via it (cd's, dvd's etc) and you normally pick up 50p/ £1 for a couple of dvds. Not doing anything out of the ordinary except linking to the website from topcashback.

Withdrew what i had accumulated yesterday and it was £112+. Also used to use rpoints for signing up to bookies and took a tidy £125+ from them.

I might start using them actually. It's money for nothing really if you shop online.
