Can anyone recommend any decent ghost walks or stop overs at haunted houses?

Cheers

Copped Hall near where I was born used to scare the bejeezus out of us (especially if you had been enjoying the odd funny fag/booze near halloween;) ). Was burnt down at the turn of last century and was undoubtedly haunted (or at least we thought it was). It is basically a massive mansion with huge grounds and a network of underground tunnels (all accessible). Pretty amazing place.

If you look at the pic on the front page, you can see the main door. This was covered in "devils graffiti", warning any naughty boys away. It was also the main access point to the ruined building.

Scared the living sh*t out of me on many an occassion....either that or my mates making each other jump out of our skins.:D

Kids eh!

The Goodison trophy room is said to feel cold and empty.

Been on a couple in Edinburgh which were decent entertainment. The first one was a tour beneath the city with a great guide - this was more entertaining than scary but worth the trip. The second one was a trip into some graveyard to go to visit the McKenzie poltergeist. This McKenzie, just like his namesake, was a complete cunt and is said to haunt his mauseoleum and attack people. Fuck all happened when I was there though (probably cos I'm so hard and that), but it was pretty spooky standing in a mausoleum in a graveyard at night.

The mother of them all though wasn't open when I was last there. It's Mary Kings Close, and is basically a whole street underground that they rediscovered when the council were renovating their offices in town. Some poor fucker in the close contracted the plague hundreds of years ago, so the townsfolk bricked them all in alive and left them to die. You can now go down there and wander in an out of the houses supposedly. I think Red Corner might be going there in the next few weeks so he might be the man to ask when he gets back.

:D

Apart from some pasty faced ginger cunt who is often seen wandering up and down the corridors, muttering something about 'the people' and 'Heysel'.

I'm from York and they do some great ghostwalks. Supposed to be the most haunted city in Europe (or one of)

They are a good laugh and quite spooky. They also do walks which go in pubs in the city. Thats quite good too. Having a bevvy whilst some twat is trying to scare the shite out of ya :D

However, when you're trying to get to the boozer and some cunt in a cape is blocking the way with a load of American tourists, it can be a tad annoying.

Just seen this thread now. The link above is for a ghost walk in my town. The bloke that does it has been on telly quite a bit doing sound effects (all that chainsaw, dripping tap stuff). The walk is very popular, Halloween especially, but Simon really gets into the part and knows his local legends, of which there are quite a lot round our way. On Halloween there is usually Pagan goings on on Pendle Hill which gets busy too.
