Aye, last night tried it for the very first time.

Salmon, trout, tuna, cuttlefish, this eggy stuff, pickled ginger, and the old wasabi.

I love the old mustard and the 'oss radish, but f*ck me ! The wasabi is red hot.

Pickled ginger was incredible...like a solid ginger ale !

Cuttlefish was chewy as f*ck.

Not keen on salmon anyway, but the rest was really nice...

I really like it...

But, to be honest price follows quality - if anyone wants to eat proper sushi, you shouldn't try and get it cheap - pay the price in a nice place.

There really is an enourmous difference from bad to good sushi... In Denmark anyway - I really dont know the conditions in Liverpool as I've never been there, but I would be surprised if there weren't any nice places...

Hmm a real foodies heaven this thread !!!

i love a bit of "blue" tuna myself, with pickled ginger and a trickle of soy obviously.

I do like a nice bit of wasabi, but don't do what Steve O from Jackass did and snort up your nose

What you want here is a post from someone from the fishing industry to tell you how healthy it is.

So, here goes.

It's dead healthy and I'm having some for lunch today. Possibly because I had a curry last night and can't face anything substantial.

I could live on Japanese food, me. I can take or leave the nigiri rolls but I could live on sashimi - I never know whether the fish you can get in Sainsburys is fresh enough to make your own though.

That last post was the ponciest thing I have ever read (or written).

I'm just off for a pie dinner and a fight to redress the balance.

Don't be too hard on yourself.

Don't use sardines though.

Sardines are devil fish. Fish from the River Styx. Fish from Satan's pond.

You get the idea.
