Searching seems to have been disabled and I can't be arsed trawling through to find the original thread, I was wondering if anyone went to see him performing it in the end though?
I went to the london gig on Sunday and it was superb, far far better than I'd expected it to be, his band were great and it was as low key as a gig involving horns, strings and a childrens choir can be, it managed to not be totally over the top which was no small feat really.
The encore was great too with a few classics thrown in, I've never been a big fan of satellite of love but the version they played was excellent.

I wqent on Saturday night and echo your sentiments, wasn't exactly expecting the worst, but it was better then I expected. Did find members of the audience 'whooping' when he was on about the wrists being slit, a little strange.
