I have a TV that I want to use my PS2 on.
However, I do not have the remote control for the TV
Therefore, I do not have access to the AV channel.
I tried a universal remote but it doesnt seem to work.
I have heard that there is a scart cable I could use that would trigger the av channel when the ps2 is witched on (like some dvd players do).
Does anybody know the name of this cable???

The scart cable that came with my PS2 triggers the AV station.
Have you looked for a button on the TV that does this though??.My tele has one so you might have too.Mine is down the side.
Sorry if this sounds patronising.

There MUST be buttons somewhere on the TV, Channel up/down, volume up/down etc. Try cycling through the channels..

I find that if you allow 1.21 gigawatts to flow into the flux capacitor, you'll generate enough energy to go back into time to find your remote control.
Failing that, have a proper look at the front and top of your tele - you should have the buttons on it somewhere, maybe concealed behind a flip panel?

Yes, of course there are buttons, but only the ones you mention, Not the av one
The scart cable that came with my PS2 triggers the AV station.
What does that cable look like? Is it the one with the red, white & yellow? Somebod told me the one with the red, white & yello doesnt trigger th av but the other one does:confused:

As far as my understanding of SCART is that they are all R,W & Y except if you can have a scart adaptor in which the coloured pins are plugged into or a pre-made scart lead in which the lead looks black but is effectively the same. You can also buy a switch in which you plug your TV reception and your SCART and when you flick the switch it "initiates" the AV channel.
Easiest way (if you havent done this already)
1. Search google for your TV model and operating manual - this will tell you how to activate the AV
2. Go to local electronics shop/tv shop and ask them - they are more likely to know then the work experience kid in your local Dixons etc

The red, white and yellow are not SCART but "composite connections".
I've just had a look at mine and I now remember buying a different cable from Toy r Us or whoever which goes straight from the Playstation into the SCART connector on the back of your telly.
I've placed a link below to show you what you need, but don't pay £99.00 for it for fuck's sake. You won't need gold connectors.

This type of cable will trigger your AV automatically.
