Would it make a difference if I told you that Sly aren't having any PPV games this year? You just have to subscribe to Setanta for those games now.

There has certainly been plenty to generally piss me off of late, including all points on your list and more. The number of times that I am left shaking my head in disbelief by our own club and many of those who would claim to be "real" fans. I fear this may get worse before it gets better, certainly fan wise, as society in general appears to be well on it`s way to arriving in hell on a handcart but the club has less of an excuse. I really hope that the new regime will give the club a much more efficient and proffessional outlook but start thinking more about the fans ....you know the ones...they pay fortunes following the club and play a huge part in making it what it is.
Actually, now you mention it, I`m more fed up than I thought with the whole UEFA, Premier League, Sky Sports, soccer am "oo r ya" bollocks, touts, scallies, lack of tickets, price of tickets, players wages, transfer fees, Chelsea playing fantasy football with the English game, the plastic flag waving Johnny come lately classless tossers, the fu**in special one, the HJC being besmirched, the manc loving press, the manc loving England manager, the mancs and ....stuff.
Ah well no doubt in 3 or 4 weeks I`ll be missing it all like mad and looking forward to Pterborough in July...oh yeah, I forgot one...fickle fans

...and then I look at the Shankly thread on TTWAR posted by my mate and remember what I fell in love with in the first place. We WERE different back then. Now we're just the same as everyone else although there's an undercurrent of "we're better than everyone else" - something we failed to prove at the last two Euro aways.
Maybe it's age and nostalgia but I can't get excited anymore. I stood on the Kop in May and screamed till I was hoarse when Dirk stuck his pen and gave us another chapter but it's been a river of shite since then.

maybe your "marriage" to Liverpool fc has become stale. it's time for a trial separation. just forget about football for the next 2 months. turn off your pc, mobile phone and get a new hobby or go on holidays. come the start of the new season you'll be a happy as the rest of us to see the boys in red playing again and rediscover your love-affair with Liverpool fc.

But Dirk's pen was so recent, all the ingredients that are so disappointing were all there..
I'm only arguing with you because I feel sure I decided to jack it all in about 5 summers ago, and possibly 3 summers ago too (I think I was very close a few other times along the way).. but I'm still here.

As we get older our whole perspectives change and we find ourselves looking through our parents eyes. I recall my grandfather and father complaining bout food prices and not being able to afford getting to the matches. It is true that as the world goes global, LFC will go with it and what we once regarded sacred will become another marketing strategy. But as our generation passes the next will rise with a diluted outlook on what we once deemed LFC.
Yet in saying this I'm a glass half full person and my focus is purely on the shirt and the matches and the joy I get from that is enough to propel me.
I'd expect yourself to grasp every cherished moment with both hands and enjoy yourself, immensly.
Cheers

Agree but i'm not sure if its a football problem or a society problem personally. When you see kids walking down the street smoking joints with a total lack of regard to everyone around them or whether the police see them, also all the teenage gangs and killings being glorified in the press, I think current state of our country and the lack of respect and family values in general is the biggest problem, and this is the future support of the club we've spent the best part of our live supporting.

That's where, in a sense, it is just you. that's your cut off point.
Ownership doesn't really get to me so much. It's the people, and what's in their heads that pushes me towards my cut off point.
What's in the heads of the new owners hasn't upset me yet. If anything, they seem to have a more objective view of what's great about the club.

I do not go to games these days but I see a fair few gobshites when I watch our games in pubs. In the final last season one in our shirt was singing Ingerland after we went 2-0 down and was afterwards going on about the ´fucking Germans´, winding himself up into a lather of gobshite rage.
Then I heard about the bunking, pushing and those getting in with forged tickets. That after all the hard work of last season with the HJC campaign.
Then I saw Pennant going on about how he should pay for Ingerland.
However, I know a good few decent Reds and see a good few here in this Forum. A win for Liverpool is a win for those lads and lasses. Therefore I keep on. Fuck the rest.

I disagree, the farmers have been shafted, the country has been flooded with houses, we all know about pensions and our gold deposits, we have been put at the forefront of terror targets, part of that is due to the Iraq war, ( at least Thatcher went to war legitimately) there has been a total breakdown in society values and harmony and the population is becoming unsustainable with the current influx of immigrants left unrestricted, political correctness has gone mad, the NHS is dreadful, teenage pregnancies are on the rise, teenage women are looking to Jordan as a role model, most Labour members promote anti-semitism, they raise taxes on 4x4 and go on about how terrible they are, all the while getting 2-4 escorts in Range Rovers, jet setting around the world and destroying/building over the natrual countryside which is needed to combat climate change. IMHO British people are treated as the minority and the whole country has gone to pot.
So yes with all this in mind I am looking forward to the football season and I couldn't care less about all the dodgy dealings and unruly fans that shame the game, because at least its only football thats slowly eroding.

Total breakdown in society values?
Might be something to do with taking away the means of living from whole communities. Creating a country where the wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few greedy bastards.
As for these homes swamping us, how is it they keep getting more expensive to buy?
The NHS. It did really well under Thatcher didn't it. 3 terms of chronic underfunding, just like the schools.
I have a lot of foreign friends who visit from time to time. We have the toughest immigration or Visa policy they've come across.
The Tories under Thatcher just loved Jews didn't they, just slightly less than they loved Blacks or Asians.
Oh, and I wasn't aware the rolling English countryside was such a contributor to keeping the the climate stable... Guess we've gotta stop chopping down that grass and building homes on it.
You can blame a lot of things on Blair but girls looking up to Jordan?... not sure about that one.

Where to begin with Thatcher.
Miners.
Loss of Liverpool Docks (ending generations of work for my family and probably a job for me too after I'd left school).
The Belgrano murders.
Mass unemployment and the Toxteth riots (real fun if you lived/went to school there at the time).
Mass polarisation in north/south living conditions.
Blair wasn't perfect but Thatcher was as close to Satan as you could get without the pitchfork and horns.

Miss Maggie ( Mistral gagnant)
A part bien sûr Madame Thatcher
A part bien sûr Madame Thatcher
translate that!

MISS MAGGIE
You society women or whores
Who often are both at a time,
Average women, ugly girls, stars
I love you all, of any kind.
Even to the most stupid one
I’ll dedicate this verse of mine
Aroused from the disgust I feel
At he-men’s warrior morals.
Since no woman on this planet
Will be as fool as her brother,
Nor as proud, nor as dishonest,
Except, perhaps, Mrs Thatcher.
O woman, I love you because
When sports are turning into war,
There are no chicks –or not a lot-
Among the supporters in hordes,
These fanatics, and these damned fools
Drunk with abject hatred and beer,
Worshipping idiots clad in blue,
Insulting bastards clad in green.
Where did you see she-hooligans,
Among women such murderers?
There are none, even in Britain
Except, of course, Mrs Thatcher.
O woman, I love you because
When you happen to drive a car,
You’re not instantly turned into
A big bully who’ve a punch-up
As soon as a headlight is knocked
Or when a finger ‘s showing up;
And some can’t even refrain from
Firing guns to avenge their cars.
The V-signs given by those fools
No women would be so vulgar
As to make of them so much use,
Except, perhaps, Mrs Thatcher.
O woman, I love you because
You won’t die for King and Country,
Because you never get orgasms
When you spy somewhere weaponry.
Because among all those sportsmen
Who like to shoot at turtle doves
Or North-Africans when they can
I never saw females, so far.
No woman could be base enough
To polish up a revolver
Just to feel invulnerable.
Except, perhaps, Mrs Thatcher.
It was not from a woman’s brain
That arose the nuclear bomb;
And no woman’s hand has been stained
By a drop of Amerind’s blood.
Palestinians and Armenians
Witness from the depths of their graves
That “genocide” is masculine
As are “SS-man”, “bull-fighter”…
Because in this whorish mankind
The murderers are all brothers.
There’s no sister to rival them
Except, perhaps, Mrs Thatcher.
Woman, I love you above all
For your weakness and for your eyes
Whereas the man’s strength only rests
Within his tail and his gunfire.
When doomsday’s come, eventually
You’ll find Hell crowded with he-fools
Playing “who has the longest pee,”
Playing with footballs and war tools.
But I would like a dog to be
And to keep on earth for ever;
And by way of streetlamp, daily
I would pee on Mrs Thatcher.

Maybe had teh Argentines not invaded the Falklands, and attacked the British people, the Belgrano would not have been sunk, as it is, that type of incident tends to happen when you go somewhere you shouldn't, hardly along the same lines as Blair in Iraq.
I am aware that I am amongst a lot of self righteous left wing supporters, however, Britain was a better place to be before Blair took over, what may have effected you, didn't effect me or those I knew under Thatcher, what has effected me is the Blair years, and effected far more people thn Thatcher effected.
The immigration control is laughable to say the least,( I am jewish and have experienced this 1st hand rather than had friends), drink, drugs and violence has sky rocketed, children have no manners due to their parents being ill educated, schooling is dreadful, society has become a very dangerous place for Jewish people in the last 10yrs, British values are eroding due to a lack of respect and understanding, there is so much more, but I don't wish to divert any more time to this topic, added to the fact this ''Karl'' seems to lean towards banning people who may say a racist comment, but not ban/warn anyone who blatantly provokes via personal insults, I see no difference between the two, I have merely expressed an opinion which differs from some from different backgrounds to my own.

So your defence of mass murder is "this type of incident tends to happen when you go somewhere you shouldn't." The ship was outside the exclusion zone and heading AT SPEED away from it and it was okay to blow it up because these things happen?

Try growing up in Liverpool in the 70's and 80's. Nothing better about it at all. Margaret Thatcher destroyed the north of England. I lived it, not just read about it.

Those "shafted" farmers are complaining now but they were one of Thatchers strongest allies. She repaid their loyalty with huge subsidies whilst the manufacturing industries were being crippled.
That's not exactly true. All farm subsidies have come from the EU for years in the CAP agreement and its basically a French deal to protect their farmers. The farmers are now being shafted by the supermarkets as they have the power to name the price they want to pay and the suppliers take it or they go to another supplier. Given that Blair and Labour haven't helped with the handling of Foot and Mouth or the balls up over the unpaid CAP payments where they were months late paying the farmers and ended up bankrupting lots of them.
As for the argument about Blair and Thatcher, they're all useless bastards who at the end of the day are looking out for No.1 and to hell with anyone or anything who gets in their way. All politicians are the same and anybody who thinks differently is a fool.

Thatcher was one of the people who was all for the CAP and made sure it was maintained, along with the French, which meant the farmers could get shitloads of money for over-producing sub-standard products which years down the line gave us BSE, Salmonella and the likes. The bankruptcy side of it, well it was a shot of the real world for a lot of farmers. After years of free handouts (which they probably poured scorn on people who had to claim benefits) they had to actually start to run their farms like a business.
I do agree that the supermarkets are taking the piss when it comes to prices.

i think the spirit of the orriginal thread poster was implying that football has gone off topic... before, we used to chat about football and that was it... now we are over-whelmed with talk of take-overs, merchandising, £10 burgers, sallaries that are so unreal it's hard to comprehend...
my sisters boyfriend was a hard-core united season ticket holder... united wanted him to fork out for all cup matches... that was the last straw for him and he's knocked it on the head and he's back watching his first team... carlisle... still loves his club but isn't prepared to pay for the glazers bad debt... end of.... a bit like 'farmers boy' on these forums and others like karl who are having serious doubts about the way the club is heading...
i don't really fall into that group as i'm just a supporter of lfc... i'm not as fanatical in my support as some and whether it's a local millionaire patron or a foreign speculator the whole game is just really a mild diversion from the realities of life... we buy into it as much or as little as we care to... and thats the bottom line for me... :)

10 pound burgers? fuckin-A thats 20 dollars out here...man, no wonder people are groaning alot about going to the games nowadays.
It's bad for ticket prices out here in the states for NFL games, I pay a butt load for New England Patriots tickets as they are an east coast team and I usually have to fly to the other side of the country to go watch them, so I only goto one maybe 2 games a year, but after tickets, beer, food, flight, hotel, rental car and merchandise I usually am out of a grand per game. Now if I lived near the stadium I would probably fork out a years savings for really good season tickets. But still, alot more expensive than it used to be.
I even checked to see how much it would be to go see LA Galaxy vs. New England Revolution(my MLS team). Plus I wanted to see Becks play as I have never had the chance to goto an England game to see him, and I never got to watch him play against Liverpool while he was at manure. (I like Becks, I know he played for manure, but I've always liked his style of play)...so back to the game prices...lets say, waiting list, or I need a scalped ticket to even have a chance of seeing him this season...I refuse to buy from scalpers, I'd rather watch it on the telly than run a risk of being tossed from a stadium(I'm a cop, I'm sure I could get into trouble for it if my department found out). The ticket prices for Galaxy games have almost doubled since Becks has now officially arrived. And I'm not flying out to Boston to watch a game as the NFL season is almost here and I'll most probably be flying out there anyway in a couple of months.
So yeah, that Setanta package doesnt seem as expensive now when you think about it.
It's 1:42am and I am hungryyyyyyyyy...McDonalds is 24 hours but I really dont want to put that shit in my body, In'N'Out(best burgers in the world) just closed at 1:30, BK closes in a few minutes, sonic closed at 1...dammit I might have to make something, but I am in lazy mode right now. like i said.... these games are diversions that some can afford or chose to make savings stretch... for most people trying to find food, shelter and clean water is a priority... so in the scheme of things, football aint such a big deal...
suggestions?

this thread has now gone totally off the topic of football, shouldn't it be moved to the off topic forum? Just wondering.
Probably but I'm keeping it here for a while to demonstrate to younger forumites how people approaching forty are feeling about their game. You think you can support your team forever but there comes a moment when you think that the club aren't actually that good at running things. In the last fifteen years we've gone through seating The Kop (we had to but the club ignored our voice on the issue), the club failing to recognise the HJC (and our own fans finally killing off any hope we had of justice), a potential signing of a racist in Lee Bowyer without the club having any problem with it, McManaman and Owen leaving because the club shat it about holding them our club to ransom (another example of weak management), an unnecessary ground move to pay back Bill and Ted, allowing a Liverpool captain to sulk and threaten to leave and then APOLOGISING TO HIM afterwards. Ah, it's not my game anymore.
All I'm doing by resurrecting this thread is saying that post Athens felt like the summer of 1985 to me. I didn't go to a game until December the following year. This year isn't quite so bad as no one died this time but I can't say I'm counting the minutes to the next season.
I'm going to the Colchester and Peterborough games but largely to see my mates (and it's cheap).

Just so you know, "the south" was pretty fucked under Thatcher as well. (am I allowed to say that?)
And John_Spartan - Belgrano sinking? Which way was it heading when it was sunk?
Much like the Germans in WW2 invading were areas the Argentines had invaded the Falklands, the Bismarck was sunk while attempting to return to its own ports, and like the Bismarck, both were sunk during a war time situation.
As I mentioned previously, I think Thatcher was better for the country than Blair, that doesn't make me a Thatcher supporter ( nor a racist that has been implied by some!) but the Thatcher years seem less chaotic than the current situation Blair has left us in, as I can only say this by whats effected me, and my outlook on the country now, and then, I am entitled to this opinion. Of course people an take out takes from the Thatcher years that were dreadful, much in the same way I can via the Blair years and the current climate, however I feel we are in a far worse situation now than then, and Brown certainly isn't changing anything.
The fact I have been degraded and insulted for my views has further strengthened my case that society today is more violent, ignorant and rude than previous years, and furthermore, I fail to see how racist comments are any different from personal insults, both are degrading and cause the same level of distress to a victim, only racism is tackled if percieved to be offensive to those in the position to tackle it, though I have seen many racist comments on this forum over recent months that have not been tackled or highlighted.
I see no excuse for racism or personal attacks, I do however agree people should air opinions if the subject is bought up, and discussing the benifits or draw backs of certain cultures or political alliances/opinions should not be confused for racism.
The Prince

Yes, I'd agree with that.
The truth is no generation likes their own times. There's never been a golden age. I still believe you're wrong about the Belgrano as it was a senseless waste of 323 lives and was only done to ensure more flag-waving back home and, more importantly, a second term. Of course, Bush tried the same thing with Iraq and won a second, maybe even legitimate, election on the background of it. I haven't checked but I'm not sure her actions carried the good wishes of the Geneva Convention.
Edit: I've just read that such a move would have been legal but war was never actually declared.
I don't see how you can be surprised at some attacks on here being that you've argued a pro-Thatcher argument (yes, I know it's relative - saying that she's not as bad as, say, Pol Pot doesn't necessarily make you a Thatcherite) on a Liverpool forum where Scousers reside when she destroyed our city. Absolutely destroyed it. You can't really expect an easy ride.
I agree that there should be no personal attacks on here and it gets tedious moderating it. I did a sticky thread about it once. I've got a few enemies on here (squints eyes and points at two in particular) but I'd like to think that I'm a chivalrous adversary.

Some of you comments about immigrants were very similar to theirs and thus you were thought to be one of them. Despite you not being one of them I'd have a rethink if I were you purely because if my opinions echoed that of the BNP on topics such as immigration then I know I've gone very badly wrong somewhere.
The CBI has said that immigration is good for the country and we need the influx of young people who are prepared to do the jobs the people here don't want to.
The farming industry which you mention is crapping itself because those same immigrants it relied on as farm hands no longer want to work in farming. Now there is a drive to entice young people into farming.
Farmers were on the gravy train for a long time and they weren't complaining then. Now it's stopped and they've got to run their businesses like businesses in a competitive global environment, just like the rest of us.
You being Jewish you would know about if it's got worse for jews in the last 10 years better than me. I am genuinely curious to know how.
I know since the wall came down there's been a resurgance of anti-semitism, nationalism and racism in Europe and to a lesser extent, here.
As for labelling Labour MP's anti-jewish, you should name names so we can either agree or refute your sweeping statement. Personally I think that a lot of Labour MP's are dismayed by whats going on in Palestine, as are the union of Journalists and the union of academics. It's not anti-jewish. Just anti - what's going on in Palestine.

It's sort of the opposite. Looking death in the face really concentrates your mind wonderfully and maybe I've just realised we're being shafted by the club and our own fans aren't necessarily what I thought they were. Just woke up a bit.
Was thinking about the same thing to myself the other day..I was in contemplatory mood. Came to the conclusion that football like anythink else has and does change constantly as does society.
There is obviously a younger generation of fans out there who were not brought up on the wonderful diet of LFC football in the 70's and 80's and hence cannot understand what an enigma LFC used to be in terms of its Football, Fans and philosophy. We cannot blame them for being a product of their experiences.
The club itself has had to be brought up to speed, all be it kicking and scraping in an attempt to admirably stick with traditions and heritage. But unfortunately money in football has spiralled massively out of control and LFC while not being innocent cannot be wholely to blame for where we are at now. Fans demand that we compete for the top honours every season, and as we have seen especially with Manu First and then Chelsea, you have a better chance if you throw lots of money at your team. Unfortunately someone has to still pay the wages, of which Im sure a large chunk of LFC fans money goes towards.
Cant also help thinking that when we look back, we sometimes have a haze of nostagia fogging up the memory, not remembering the hard times, those dodgy wools on that away game to St Etienne etc. I think all I am saying is change is not always a bad thing if the spirit behind it is still pure, and the core of LFC to me is still about dignity and togetherness.

Ultimately the BNP are founded and run by racist, however I do not believe all people who vote for the BNP are racist, but the immigration system needs serious addressing, and in some peoples eyes, the BNP are the only ones offering something to halt it, infact I believe there was a well respected ballet dancer who was found out to be a BNP supporter on this basis.
I myself am an immigrant, I have a British passport now, but I do understand this country has to stop opening its doors to everyone, in such a confined country to have close to 70million people, which is more than Canada, god knows how much bigger than the UK, is a recipe for trouble.
A study showed rats went around in gangs killing each other when overcrowded, we have the ghettos of the USA, there are coutless examples where this current blue print for the UK doesn't work, though if you have genuine concerns, its best to keep quiet as you could be labeled a racist.
I am not a racist, I am not anti immigration, I am not a BNP supporter either for the record, I just want to live in peace and safety, and this is not happening due to goverment policies, unfortunately if you suggest a solution along the lines of immigration, then people assume you are racist, which isn't fair, plus I would be a hypocrite being an immigrant myself, but I do understand when enough is enough, it saddens me that people don't love Britain in the same way I do, its a fantastic country which has been poorly run.
I am unsure how many people saw Richard LittleJohns documentry on Channel 4 last week, but it explained what has happened to people from my background in this country, and the left swing to anti-semitism, I hesitate to point fingers at groups who have made life worse for myself and others, again, I am not trying to stir up peoples emotions or argue, but if you are interested to know a little more Littlejohn explains some of it in this column I am unsure how much because I didn't read, just did a quick google serach.

Ken Livingstone is a prime example of an Anti-semetic, what he said about concentration camps was unreal! the fact he wasn't forced to resign sent out a clear message, infact Kilroy-SIlk lost his job from the BBC for a less offensive comment, again if it is aimed at the Jewish community its not considered in the same context as those of other faiths.
George Galloway marching on behalf of Hezbollah and degrading Israel on the streets of London was a low point to, Hezbollah are about as anti western as you can get, the fact that Isreal was attacked, had troops kidknapped etc etc first, and only after did we retaliate wasn't enough, retaliation seemed to spark mass anti-semetitism throughout the UK, since then I have been subjected to a number of racial abuse incidents, and none of them from white British people.
Regarding Belgrano, I am unaware if war had been declared then or not, either way they put themselves in the situation by invading, and I am afarid in that type of scenario it was always a risk, of course the loss of life was terrible, but Argentinia had no right invading the Falklands in the 1st place.
As I said, I am not trying to argue, offend I am simply offering a different perspective and voicing my concerns, perhaps given the history behind the people in Liverpool and Thatcher was rather ill thought out, though maybe some can see how Blair could have effected others in the same way as Thatcher has effected Liverpudlians, as someones said previously, they are all out for number 1 anyway, I'd rather had witnessed neither of them in my time.

ok... i'm big enough to admit when i'm wrong... calling u a tedious c+nt was wrong... (unless u are michael howard;) )
the argument u put forward, however was tedious 'cos i've heard it so many times... and your views on immigration are out of a bnp book whether you're a member or not... u use the same phrases... 'enough is enough'... 'recipe for trouble'... ironically i hear the same arguments from alot of people who came here in the 1950's+...
lets look at the immigration 'problem' u speak of... like others have said, the cbi and other institutions have welcomed the influx of, by-and-large, hard working, tax-paying individuals who are helping to rejuvinate this country's economy... these immigrants take out of the system less than they contribute in terms of healthcare, benefits etc... this is not left-wing propaganda but fact... look at the stats that government have...
there are over 8million british born citizens who live abroad, 750,000 in spain alone... now what we have is a transfer of people... some go out, some come in... simple... we are not being over-run, we are supposed to be a welcoming civilised society... ask any immigrant how they feel they've been treated... i'll mention again the fact that british citizens have been buying up property in poland, bulgaria... all over europe... pushing up the house prices and making it almost impossible for locals to buy a home... the cycle continues, they move out looking for work and end up working for less than £2 per hour just to make greedy owners richer...
untill jewish people in this country stand up and speak out against the attrocities commited by the state of israel against the pallestinians, there will be no peace... true, there are states within the middle east who want to oblitterate all israellis and expell them from their homes... 2 wrongs don't make a right... good up-standing jews should stand up and be counted just like good up-standing muslims and christians... and the rest...
regarding the belgrano... look at what tam dyyell (spelling) has to say... 20+ years asking the same questions that wern't answered adequately... tony blair has his own demons to live with... helping usa invade iraq was a criminal act and both should face charges in a court of law...
like u said john... coming onto such a website and defending thatcher was maybe disengenious but u were right to do so and u shouldn't have been flamed so strongly but given that the odd sneaky-bnp-thinking fucker does get through the net, u can understand, maybe, how people are bound to react... anyhow... do u think we should sign heinze or do u have a better idea for left back/full back? :)
ps... are u michael howard?

what i wanna know is... exactly how do we 'control' immigration?... and where do we draw the line? in ireland they passed a law that states that being born in ireland doesn't automatically convey on the individual a right of citizenship... looks like euro-court of human rights my deem this unlawful... just another right-wing policy slipping through...

Where is the objectivity for the shortcomings of this lot? Our constitution is being dismantled, our freedoms dismissed.. The European Union is getting it's dirty mits on the workings of the country. (Who the fuck are they?). Can anyone resist this, or shall we just blame Thatcher?

the political and economic mechanisms were in place before blair and thatcher... just that what she did was use and abuse policy to decimate the industrial heartlands of brittain knowing full well that she could do it without much resistance... and made it easier for greedy people to get even richer... blair just took the leap forward that a quater of the working classes have always subscribed to, namely, capitalist policy...
we don't have a constitution... just a bunch of laws that keep the status quo... as for europe... i'd be more concerned with the way in which tax-payers money is being used to kill innocent people all around the world...
there's plenty-plenty money in this country but corruption means that a lot of it is moved away and not spent where its really needed...

I'm not sure why you find Spartan's view refreshing.
Thatcher was one of 65 million but unlike the other 64,999,999 she was Primeminister who because disolving whole communities, redirecting wealth to those few who didn't need it.
Even her best policy (allowing council tenants to buy their properties) was poisoned as the money from these sales did not go into building new housing or into the communities but into tax relief for the better off.
Anybody who says Thatcher was a figure head is way off! Her cabinet were terrified of her.

There are no attrocities being commited, this is long term propoganda to unite people into hating Jewish people, everything that occured has been in response to what was done to Israel first, Jewish people are painted out to be this terrible greedy terrorist culture that are occupying a land supposedly not theirs, but the facts are, Israel have been suffering decades of unprovoked attacks, we are 5million in Israel, surrounded by 500million Muslims that want to wipe us off the face of the planet, every stance we have taken has had to be a defensive stance as we are under constant threat and attack, then if we retaliate in any manner, we have westeners calling for a boycott of anything linked to Israel and mass marches with westerners and muslims carrying signs chanting hate for Israel and how we are all Hezbollah now! Hezbollah carry out guerrilla attack tactics, suicide bombings and kidknappings, hardly the type of saints the media likes to make out.
What is happening in Iraq now, has been a way of life for Israel for decades, I would never condem what Israel does, as I know and have lived the reality, do Muslims condem the British forces in Iraq who are now just there as a presence rather than an attack force? or do they condem the other muslims that kill each other making it very difficult to justify a withdrawal? they always condemn the occupying forces never the actual perperators, much like they condem Britain for choosing who they can or can't honour, thus leading them to condem Israel for merely existing, in the meantime carrying out terrorist attacks in Israel if Jewish people aren't allowed Israel, where are we to go?
Of course with 500million people saying we shouldn't exist, and only 5million Jewish people cauisng the percieved problem, I can understand why public opinion seems to full in favour of a very 1 sided argument.

the 1950's was understandable, Britain had plenty of room, it was trying to recover from the impact of the war, it needed a boost.
Now, Britain has close to 70million people in an absolutely tiny area and still no limits on how many more can come in. Pro-immigration campaigners seem to think Britain has the same land mass as America or Russia, I find Britain totally overcrowded and the once charming tranquil countryside that was associated with Britain has become a rather ugly urban eye sore, I feel this overcrowding is hitting a lot of aspect of British life, from manners, traditions, education etc etc, and unlike the poster who said cutting blades of grass wasn't causing climate change and building over the country was all fine and dandy, if all the natrual areas of Britain turn into an urban playgroud, surely thats led to a drastic decrease in Tree's and other aspects of the countryside that help reduce emmisions? Britain is very quickly turning into a mini America and its a shame.

what happenned in jennin a few years ago would be reasonably described as an atrocity... i've seen the foto's that won't be published here and a town that was pulverised and later buldosed to hide the evidence is the act of cowards... also when the man protecting his son was shot near a check-point and the 'shooting' lasted a long time, we could see that both of them were un-armed... this was an atrocity... if u can't see that john, you're part of the 'lost souls' brigade from BOTH sides that fuel the hatred...
there are plenty of muslims who don't condone and actually actively oppose suicide bombers and know that some of the lies muslim clerics are using don't emanate from the qran but from the minds of humans that twist the 'word of god' to serve their devilish means...
everyone loves the underdog don't they john... in israel, the palestinians are perceived to be the underdogs...

I agree Israel was a terrible choice for Jewish people to go, outside of suggesting Berlin, I don't think they could have found Jewish people an area where they could be more hated, though its happened, and launching missles and bombings for shits and giggles rather than attempting to work with Jewish people rather than stating we should be wiped off the face of the earth, it may have helped.
There are always stories and alledged pictures of incidents that are used to stoke the fire of hatred towards Jewish people, of course there will be some cases which are dreadful, these individuals could be likened to murderers, it doesn't mean the whole Jewish community is like this, just like the 11 yr old muslim boy who behead a person with other muslims cheering him doesn't represent every young muslim, or the footage of schools in Palestine teaching toddlers the glory of suicide bombings in israel, there is a retort for either side of the argument, though the hatred of Jewish people is fairly obvious from a mass perspective of muslim society, so much so that Jewish people in my community including myself only ever recieve racial hatred from the muslim community, and suprisingly not the young skin head white britains that have been traditionally associated with that type of racism.
It is a Israeli and Palestinian matter ,the call for mass jewish killings shouldn't be tolerated. I also believe America offers a lot of aid relief to many countries, these statistics still don't show the conspiracy theory or link of Jewish Americans funding Israel for arming purposes.

i used the point about jennin to counter your claim that there wern't any atrocities... not to 'stoke any fires of hatred'... we are all well aware of the atrocities committed by muslims, our tv, radio and print media keep us pretty well up to date....
likened to murders? that is exactly what they were, unlawfull murders and should be condemned as much as the suicide bombers... those israeli soldiers involved should be arrested and charged with unlawful murder and tried in court for their crimes... members of the israeli government should also be arrested, charged and tried for commissioning these atrocities...
no john... it's a matter that ultimately affects us all...

User, I appreciate your comments, I am not in full agreement, I can agree with some things, but of course have counter allegations or reasons for others, though I'm afraid I will not take part anymore as this thread has probably gone on long enough.
As long as we get someone fast, strong, good at marking, excellent at defending, basically the next Maldini maybe, I'll be happy.
Did I not say I don't care what race/colour or creed they were, i just found them to be downright rude. Wind your neck in FFS lad.
In all honesty there were a few I met who were fresh out of their stint at national service so perhaps I am doing them an injustice and they had reason to be (although i struggle to find an excuse for arrogance/rudeness....something I found they all had in abundance).
I apologise if you feel like I was being racsit - it was certainly not my intention. I sometimes wonder if people know exactly what the word means anymore.

I wouldn't say that was racist at all. Had he said "All Jews are cunts" then, yes, it would have been but he said that the few he'd met were which is a valued judgment made by him. I've only met one Swedish person in the flesh and I couldn't abide her - it doesn't mean that I'm anti-Swede.

I found it hard to believe how differently John Sparton is treated by people on here, as soon as he mentions he's Jewish. Any other right wing twat who spouts this type vile would have been banned by now. How can anyone who has come to this country as an immigrant want to close the door behind them.
It wouldn't surprise me if JS is an BMP member pretending to be Jewish, in the knowledge that he can sprout his right wing shite on here without any of the lefties kicking him off.
This is the internet lads. The men are women, the women are men and any kids are the FBI.

Saying all Israeli's he's met(implied large numbers) are all c**ts and the fact I am clearly of Israeli descent about as specific to a race of people as you can get and most of all obviously offensive to me.
However he has in a round about way apologised and explained himself, as I said, I have no doubt whatsoever had I said that but replaced Israel with arabs and jewish with muslim I would have been banned within a few mins, and there would have been a ton of posters ranting and raving.
I was attacked and implied a racist just for saying Thatcher was better than Blair, and that was hardly as offensive in any context.

My reasons were perfectly well explained for my control on immigration, granted it sounds hypocritical, but when we have a land mass and social structure on delcine that we do, should we really be pushing way past 70million people and overcrowding yet further diminishing education standards and generally pushing society to its limits.
As mentioned, the left wing may aswell be the new right wing, i have shown countless examples of anti jewish behaviour from the left, though I am hhardkly suprised die hard blairites don't recognise this.
I am neither right nor left, though both sets are entilted to an opinion, and as this is a democracy, i hardly think anyone should be banned based on opinions unless obviously offensive and hateful.

"The only Israelis I've ever met "
Perhaps your perception of large numbers is relative to your perception of racism....ie completely inaccurate...
Racism is a belief or doctrine that differences in physical appearance between people (such as those upon which the concept of race is based) determine cultural or individual achievement, and usually involve the idea that one's own 'race' is superior.
See any of that in my post? Thought not.
Please don't go round slandering people with your inaccuracies when it is clear you haven't got a fucking clue what you're on about. Cheers.
BTW I said they were rude cunts not cunts. I think i can add deluded to that too now.

In other words you were careful on how you worded it, though it was very obvious , hardly constructive to the topic and a clear attack on me knowing I am of Israeli descent, and yes i did see parts of your definition in your post, and yes it was offensive and uncalled for.

so far I have had ''sothern cunt'' '' right wing cunt''then someone implying i am racist, then derogatory comments about my culture and people, then attacks because i alledgly spout right wing bile, just out of interest, with these reactions and treatment, how exactly does this seperate the left wing from the right wing if the left is supposed to be democratic, accepting and liberal?

Ultimately, I don't care.
"Southern cunt" - I'd disagree with that.
"Right wing cunt" - I'd have no problem with that as that's how I tend to view the right wing anyway. I know it's an extreme example but had this been 1933 I'd hardly be saying "stop picking on the Nazi forumite everyone."
I adore the only Jews I've ever met. There! That's balance for you. Equally, I've never met a bad Muslim but don't get me started on the Eskimo's.

What we have established is, so called ''lefties'' are more ignorant than any right winger, manners are optional but frowned upon, a civil debate can't be engaged without the need for some to stoop to personal insults, lefties are self righteous clinging on to their views and condeming any views that may differ from their own, and ultimately there is a seed of racism in each lefties mind, though because its towards jews, it doesn't matter, at least the labour dominated media is working its magic I suppose.
Now I can see why Ken Livingstone wasn't forced to resign and how Blair got voted in so many times!

Not only did you originally imply I am a racist, but now you assume I am a tory?!?!? for the record, I do not vote as I don't see anyone fit to run the country, I have my own views and opinions, I certainly don't subscribe to a certain parties views and buy into all the staged events and fabricated figures.
